All living areas are only accessible with residents' Shocker Cards - be sure yours is ready before arrival. Housing staff are on-site 24/7 to assist during move-in and throughout the year.

Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- Official Move-In Day is Saturday, August 8, 2026, with full move-in support (volunteers, carts, and a structured check-in process). Later arrivals are welcome any day after August 8, though without the same organized support.
- Check-in location
- Follow the posted STOP-DROP-ROLL process: stop at your assigned hall's check-in tent to get your key/Shocker Card access and a parking pass, drop off your belongings at the curb for volunteers to help carry in, then roll (park) your vehicle in your hall's designated lot.
- Parking
- Each residence hall (Shocker Hall, The Suites) has its own designated move-in parking lot - follow signage and volunteer directions to your specific hall's lot. No special parking permit is required for move-in day itself.
- What you'll receive
- You'll receive your room key and Shocker Card access at check-in. Proof of the required meningitis vaccination must be submitted to Housing before you can receive your key, so confirm this is on file ahead of arrival.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Note that a room-change freeze is in effect from August 1 through September 1.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
