Fall 2026 Move-In Details
All full-time, first-time freshman students are required to reside on campus and be on a board plan for one full academic year, with limited exemptions available through the Housing Office. Fall opening activities weekend begins the Friday before the start of classes, including notebook computer distribution, social activities, and floor meetings with your RA. This specific date should be confirmed directly with VCSU's Housing Office closer to move-in. Last year's new-student move-in ran on the Friday before classes, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

- Check-in location
- New students check in at their assigned residence hall. Kolstoe, McCoy, Snoeyenbos, and the other halls are listed on the Residence Life page; the exact check-in desk comes with your housing assignment.
- What you'll receive
- New students get their notebook computer during opening weekend, along with laptop trainings, and floor meetings with your RA. Volunteers greet families, and football student-athletes help carry items to rooms.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
