Fall 2026 Move-In Details
Submit your WyoOne ID photo by August 1, 2026 to ensure it's pre-printed and ready at check-in. Packages can be shipped to your UW address (as shown on your July 24 placement email) for delivery on or after August 10, then picked up from the mailroom in North Hall. A parking permit isn't required for the 30-minute unloading zone during move-in, but is required to park on campus afterward. Saddle Up, a new required introductory course running Aug. 24-28, 2026, has its own separate, earlier move-in window (Aug. 21-22) with an additional $412 charge given it falls before the standard housing contract start date.

Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- Sign up for your specific move-in timeslot ahead of time - check-in and unloading procedures differ by hall (see checkInLocation).
- Check-in location
- McIntyre Hall and Tobin House residents check in directly at McIntyre Hall before unloading. North Hall and South Hall residents instead check in at the "Welcome Zone" in the War Memorial Stadium parking lot, where the Move-In Team issues your WyoOne ID and directions to your hall.
- Parking
- McIntyre/Tobin residents get 30 designated move-in spaces with a 30-minute unloading window. After unloading, move your vehicle to a student parking permit lot or one of the temporary Move-In Parking zones - carts are available for checkout at McIntyre Hall to help haul belongings.
- What you'll receive
- Rooms come already furnished, per UW Housing's own amenities list. Pack your belongings in plastic totes, suitcases, or large storage bags rather than loose boxes, and consider shipping items ahead of time if traveling a long distance.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Oversized vehicles and trailers aren't permitted in the standard move-in unloading zones - they're directed to temporary parking east of Crane Hall or north of North Hall instead.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
