Your specific move-in date and time were assigned in My UW Housing along with your room assignment - assigned days/times spread out arrivals to keep resources and parking available. Several streets near campus (Park Street, Lake Street, Dayton Street) shift to one-way traffic patterns during move-in. Join the UW Marching Band on Monday, August 31, at Camp Randall Stadium for a fun welcome event and the new student "W" photo.

Move-in day logistics
- Parking
- Parking lots near residence halls are used as unloading zones during move-in - if you have a campus parking permit for one of these affected lots, watch your email for notifications, since you won't need to relocate but the lot may be busy or full at times.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
