Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- Move-in 2026 runs Friday and Saturday, August 14-15, only. Watch JagMail for your specific appointment date and time via the Move-In Appointments Dashboard.
- Check-in location
- Most residents check in along John Counts Drive. Traditions at South and SouthPaw Village residents follow a separate check-in procedure and should not use Entrance #1 - a Student/Photo ID is required at check-in for everyone.
- Parking
- John Counts Drive is closed and converted to one-way traffic from 7am-5:30pm during move-in, running from Campus Entrance #1 (at Old Shell Road) to the Jaguar Training Center. Consider using an alternative campus entrance if you're entering or exiting for reasons other than move-in during these hours.
- What you'll receive
- Your room key, issued after presenting your Student/Photo ID at check-in.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Only traffic from students checking in to receive their room key is permitted to enter campus at Entrance #1, and no westbound traffic toward Entrance #1 past Hancock Whitney Stadium is allowed during move-in hours.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
