Fall 2026 Move-In Details
Specific arrival date/time selected via a link emailed in mid-July. Bring a photo ID and set up your 49er Mobile ID at least one business day before arrival - you'll need it to access your hall. You may bring a maximum of two guests to help unload and carry belongings - these two must remain the same all day. Bring your own moving equipment, since hand trucks or carts aren't provided.
Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time - your exact move-in date is shown above in the Overview.
Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- You'll have 15 minutes to unload your vehicle once directed to your building's unloading area - move quickly so others can unload too.
- Check-in location
- Enter campus via the Cameron Road entrance off University City Blvd./Hwy 49, then check in at your assigned hall's front desk to receive your key.
- Parking
- Holshouser and Scott Hall residents park at the South Village Deck or Lot 8; Wilson Hall residents park at the Cone Deck. After unloading, return your vehicle to the same deck or lot.
- What you'll receive
- Your room key at your hall's front desk - bring a photo ID to pick it up.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Unless explicitly directed, don't drive into courtyard areas or onto walkways - damage may result in a repair charge.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
