Reserve your move-in time through MizzouOne once assignments are released. Heavier-than-usual traffic is expected around residence halls and throughout Columbia on both main move-in days - the University of Missouri Police Department posts temporary closures and traffic redirections in advance. Welcome Week continues through the week with First Roar, Sweet Start at the Zou, and concludes with Tiger Walk through the historic Columns. You can book your move-in appointment starting in July - traffic patterns change for move-in, so check the posted move-in maps for your specific hall rather than relying on GPS alone.

Move-in day logistics
- Check-in location
- Screenshot your QR code from the Housing Portal's 'My Assignments' page before arriving - like a concert ticket, it makes check-in faster at your assigned hall.
- Parking
- Brooks Hall residents park in the Southwest area, Lot SG7; Defoe-Graham residents park in the Truman Central area, Lot SG4M - incoming students are assigned a perimeter lot based on their Res Life housing assignment.
- What you'll receive
- Your Mizzou Mobile ID through the GET app opens your hall's exterior doors and, in halls with electronic locks (including both Brooks and Defoe-Graham), serves as your room key.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Missouri license plates don't use the letters 'I' and 'O' - use the numbers '1' and '0' instead when registering online, or the parking software will flag your vehicle as unrecognizable. There are no physical hang tags or decals.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
