Move-In

Fall 2026 Move-In Details

Your specific move-in date depends on your assigned residence hall - watch your University email for your exact time (8:30am-4:00pm range). Check-in for all traditional halls happens at the Scheidt Family Performing Arts Center. Full-service move-in includes volunteer help unloading your vehicle - limited to 2 vehicles and 1 trip, no U-Hauls or trailers.

Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time - your exact move-in date is shown above in the Overview.

Move-in day logistics

Arrival window
Check-in times are individually assigned within an 8:30am-4:00pm window on your building's move-in day; residents assigned after 5pm won't have volunteer assistance available.
Check-in location
The Scheidt Family Performing Arts Center lobby is the primary check-in point for traditional residence halls; Carpenter Complex checks in at its own office, and the Lambuth branch campus's Carney-Johnston hall has its own separate location.
Parking
A Resident Priority Parking Pass is recommended for convenient gated parking close to your residence hall, available through Parking and Transportation Services.
What you'll receive
Residents in traditional-style rooms receive a combined refrigerator/microwave EcoMax unit, already in place before you arrive.
Vehicle restrictions
Residents are limited to two passenger vehicles and one trip through the full-service move-in process; no U-Hauls, trailers, or moving trucks/vans are allowed.

Move-in day tips

  • Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
  • Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
  • Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
  • Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
