Fall 2026 Move-In Details
Move-in timeslots are randomly assigned this year (a new policy) based on class standing, residence hall, and LLC/TC participation - each student gets a one-hour window. Watch for your assigned timeslot and any adjustment period once released. Freshmen are required to live on campus. Print your hall's traffic map in advance - GPS and Google Maps instructions are not necessarily the same as the official move-in traffic flow. Vinyl bins are available to check out during your appointment.

Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- Arrive during your randomly-assigned one-hour move-in timeslot - weekend slots (Aug. 15-16) offer a quieter, more flexible experience with fewer crowds, though move-in volunteers and welcome activities won't be available those days.
- Parking
- Display your temporary parking pass clearly on your dashboard for one hour of unloading time, then move your vehicle to long-term parking - Billy Minardi Hall residents (West side) can use the free yellow lot behind Bettie Johnson Hall; Denny Crum Hall residents (East side) can use the free green lot on Brook Street.
- What you'll receive
- If you didn't receive your Student ID card during Orientation, visit the Cardinal Card Office before or immediately after checking in - several halls require this ID to access the building after move-in.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Follow the driving instructions on your hall's traffic map rather than GPS - move-in traffic patterns and color-coded directional signage differ from standard routes.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
