Fall 2026 Move-In Details
Schedule your Move-In Appointment by the July 31, 2026 deadline, or the Office of University Housing will assign one for you. Arrive only at your scheduled appointment time to help reduce traffic - East St. Mary Boulevard operates as a one-way, move-in-only street on Aug. 20-21. Sorority and fraternity recruitment happens after classes begin, so move in during your assigned appointment even if you're participating.
Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time - your exact move-in date is shown above in the Overview.
Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- First-time freshmen move in Aug. 20-21, by scheduled appointment, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Continuing students move in Aug. 22-23, by appointment, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Late arrivals should coordinate with their building's RA on duty.
- Check-in location
- First-time freshmen check in at the Health Sciences Campus during their appointment window. Continuing students check in at their own building or complex's front desk or office.
- Parking
- Bring up to two vehicles to your building's unloading area. Unloading is limited to 20 minutes, after which vehicles must move to a designated parking tower or lot - which one depends on your specific residence hall, so check your assignment ahead of time.
- What you'll receive
- Your room key, an Ozzi reusable-container coin, and parking passes for the move-in period.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Only two vehicles are allowed in unloading areas per student, and someone must stay with each vehicle at all times. Vehicles left unattended after move-in risk being ticketed.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
