Fall 2026 Move-In Details
Assisted move-in is available for new first-year and transfer students specifically, with faculty, staff, and student volunteers on hand throughout the day to help you settle into your Living Learning Community. If you can't make your assigned shift, you may move in independently after 5 p.m. the same day, or between August 16-20 by contacting your residential specialist directly - just note room assignments are no longer guaranteed after 5 p.m. on August 20. You must be registered for classes before you can move in.

Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- Saturday, Aug. 15, in hall-based shifts: 8 a.m. to noon for Stevens and Johnson Halls, and 1 to 5 p.m. for the Delta Complex, Copeland Hall and Fischer Hall. No advance registration is needed - just arrive during your hall's shift.
- Check-in location
- Go to your assigned residence hall, where volunteers and student staff help unload. On arrival you sign and submit a room inventory sheet to your Resident Specialist. Campus offices (advising, financial aid, housing support) are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the STEM Conference Center.
- Parking
- Follow UAPB's official move-in traffic maps rather than mobile GPS. Park in the lots near your hall - not along the roadway or on the grass by the residence halls.
- What you'll receive
- A furnished room with a twin bed and mattress, desk, chair, closet or wardrobe and dresser, plus wireless internet and cable TV. Residents must keep a meal plan. Refrigerators up to 3.2 cubic feet are allowed; cooking appliances, halogen lamps and open flames are not.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Every vehicle needs a valid UAPB parking decal, and residents can't use staff, visitor or accessible spaces without the right registration.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
