Timeslots may be cancelled or changed until 5 p.m. the day before your assigned window - book through the Housing Portal. Campus Living begins accepting letters and packages for Fall 2026 students on August 10, 2026; please don't ship items before that date, and pick everything up during your assigned check-in window. If arriving after 5 p.m. on the first day of classes (Aug. 24), complete the late arrival notification form so Housing Services can hold your room. Purchase renters insurance before arriving if you're not covered by a parent or guardian's policy - highly recommended for both residence hall and apartment residents.

Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- After arriving during your appointment time, you'll have three hours to complete your move-in - timeslots are staggered in one-hour increments with a set number of students per building.
- Check-in location
- Report to your area or village office and call the phone number posted at your location - a staff member will meet you to issue your key and check you in.
- Parking
- Use the custom Google map provided for your building to navigate to the nearest parking lot, unload your vehicle, then move your car to a long-term parking space.
- What you'll receive
- Your room key and check-in, issued in person by a staff member at your area or village office.
- Vehicle restrictions
- UB uses a License Plate Recognition (LPR) system that has replaced physical parking hang tags - all residents choosing to have a car on campus must register for a free virtual parking permit.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
