Housing & Residence Life will email your assigned 30-minute arrival time slot to your Tulane email address in May. Admitted first-year students are required to live on campus for their first three academic years (freshman, sophomore, and junior years), not the usual one or two seen at most schools. Southwest and United both offer discounted move-in travel fares - see Tulane Housing's Fall Move-In page for booking codes.

Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- New students move in August 9-11, 2026, in an assigned 30-minute timeslot. Returning students move in August 12-15, and new transfer students August 12-14.
- Check-in location
- Proceed through the check-in queue on Ben Weiner Drive during your assigned 30-minute timeslot, entering via S. Claiborne Avenue. Staff verify your arrival and scan your check-in code to check you into your residence hall room.
- Parking
- Park in the Diboll parking structure and receive a move-in day parking permit. Vehicles must be removed from the Diboll structure by 10pm on your move-in day to make room for other students.
- What you'll receive
- New students receive a Splash Card (if your photo was submitted on time) plus your room key, if applicable.
- Vehicle restrictions
- If arriving via rideshare, don't request drop-off until after completing the check-in tent process on Ben Weiner Drive.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
