A specific Tech-In Timeslot is required and must be reserved in advance (deadline July 26) - residence halls will not open for occupancy outside your scheduled window, and missing the deadline may result in forfeiting your housing assignment. Texas Tech's campus is officially dry, meaning alcohol is prohibited in residence halls and at most university events. Texas Tech reached on-campus housing capacity for the 2026-27 academic year, so confirm your housing contract status well before the June 1 deadline to avoid needing a formal Housing Exemption.

Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- Arrive during your scheduled Tech-In Timeslot - you'll have a designated amount of time to park in the unloading zone before needing to move your vehicle.
- Parking
- Park in your designated unloading area - parking and unloading instructions may vary by residence hall, so review the information sent to your TTU email before arriving. Once unloaded, move your vehicle as directed so other students and families can access the unloading areas.
- What you'll receive
- Have your Texas Tech Student ID ready, along with your phone to scan QR codes and complete the Tech-In process.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
