Fall 2026 Move-In Details
Specific move-in appointment details will be sent by email in late June 2026, with appointments assigned through MyHousing in July. Temple requires freshmen to live on campus, with residential buildings clustered along and near Liacouras Walk, the pedestrian spine of Main Campus. Bring family or friends to help with belongings - the student goes to check in while others begin unloading to the curb.

Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- Pull alongside the road near the white tents for move-in, then unload belongings directly onto the sidewalk area - Safety and Security staff direct traffic and guide you to the appropriate locations.
- Check-in location
- Report to the check-in area for your specific residence hall assignment - Residential Life Staff and RAs distribute room keys, mailbox codes or keys, and important documents here.
- Parking
- After unloading, you'll be directed to the closest parking lot being used during move-in. Each student receives one free parking pass at check-in, valid for a 2-hour window - additional cars must pay the daily rate.
- What you'll receive
- Your room key, mailbox key or code, and a wristband for yourself and each member of your group - all students and guests must wear a wristband to enter the building. You can also check out a moving cart via a digital form for a 30-minute window; a $300 fine applies if it's not returned.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Parking in front of the halls is limited - one person should stay with belongings on the sidewalk while others move the vehicle to the designated move-in lot.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
