A complimentary shuttle from the Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) airport to campus is available for students arriving on the confirmed arrival dates - register for it in your application. For students arriving outside this window, a shuttle can still be scheduled directly with Groome Transportation. Garvey Commons, the main dining hall, opens for the semester on August 20 at 11 a.m.

Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- Residential communities open for first-year students Aug. 20-23, 2026 - go directly to your assigned building to check in.
- Check-in location
- Check in at your assigned residence hall - bring your SCSU ID and a photo ID to pick up your keys.
- Parking
- Park along the street to unload, then move your vehicle to one of the designated "Res Lots" near your building to make room for the next student.
- What you'll receive
- You'll pick up your room keys at check-in - order your SCSU Student ID Campus Card online ahead of time to avoid a long line.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Oversized vehicles such as moving trucks, boats, or trailers are not permitted in the unloading zones, which are for initial drop-off only.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
