Reed College's Portland campus, built around a forested canyon nature preserve, is anchored by Eliot Hall, one of its first buildings since 1912, designed in Tudor Gothic style by architect A.E. Fall 2026 Move-In Details
Students will receive a detailed email with move-in instructions several days prior to their arrival, including who to contact for unexpected delays. Submit your photo for your Reed ID card in advance to help streamline check-in. Packages can be mailed to the Reed mailroom up to two weeks before your move-in date. Check-in runs by time slot: sign up for your move-in time (slots open June 1, deadline July 1), and early arrivals are not permitted.

Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- Monday, August 24, in the move-in time slot you sign up for on the New Student website (sign-up deadline July 1). You can't check in before your assigned slot, and if you can't arrive by 3 p.m. you should let Residence Life know.
- Check-in location
- Check-in is handled through your signed-up time slot; the exact check-in spot is in the detailed email you receive several days before arrival. Upload your MMR vaccination records to the Student Health Portal and submit your ID photo ahead of time to speed things up.
- Parking
- Trillium has drive-up access for brief unloading via 28th Avenue. Naito and Sullivan have no direct vehicle access, so park in the north parking lot and carry things in.
- What you'll receive
- You'll get your Reed ID card (submit your photo in advance) and your room assignment at check-in. The Reed College Bookstore sells light bulbs, hangers, blankets, and whiteboards; packages can be mailed to the mailroom up to two weeks before move-in.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Trillium allows only brief drive-up unloading, and Naito and Sullivan have no vehicle access, so cars must park in the north lot.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
