Fall 2026 Move-In Details
Students will receive an assigned move-in date based on their hall assignment and select a preferred time slot in late August. Follow the traffic flow map in your Move-In Guide based on your specific residence hall, then park in the designated unloading zone to unload promptly before moving your vehicle to long-term parking. Residence halls are distributed across the three days (Hawley/Buxton/Callahan/Bloss on day one; Cauthorn/Sackett/West/McNary/Tebeau/Halsell on day two; Weatherford/Poling/Wilson/Finley/ILLC on day three) so each day stays as efficient and traffic-free as possible. Do not rely on GPS or other navigation tools to find alternate routes, as this may cause disruptions - follow the driving instructions in the Move-In Guide instead.

Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- On your assigned day and time, follow UHDS staff instructions to your check-in area, then park in your hall's designated unloading zone and unload promptly - like you would drop someone off at the airport.
- Check-in location
- Follow UHDS staff instructions to your check-in area or Service Center, where you'll receive your room key.
- Parking
- Once you've finished unloading, move your vehicle to a long-term parking area - the parking structure at 26th & Washington or any long-term lot away from move-in activities is ideal.
- What you'll receive
- Your room key at your check-in area or Service Center - each student also receives one vehicle unloading zone pass to use during move-in.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Parking permits are required year-round on the OSU Corvallis campus - on-campus residents are only eligible for R parking permits, which can sell out, so secure one before bringing a vehicle to campus.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
