Oklahoma City University's Uptown campus centers on Bishop W. Angie Smith Chapel, a triangular 1968 building with a 151-foot spire designed by famed architect Pietro Belluschi, with incoming freshmen housed in halls including Banning Hall, Walker Hall, and Methodist Hall.

Fall 2026 Move-In Details
Each student is responsible for signing up for a time slot - links will be emailed out to all students in mid-July. You must arrive and check into your room assignment on your assigned day and during your self-assigned time slot; requests for changes cannot generally be accommodated unless already approved. Upon arrival, the student and one support person will be let into their room by a member of Residence Life staff. Contact OCU Housing and Residence Life with any questions if you didn't receive the sign-up email.

Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- Thursday, August 13 or Friday, August 14, in a 2-hour window you sign up for between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sign-up links are emailed in mid-July.
- Check-in location
- It depends on your hall. Walker and Banning residents enter campus from Noble Drive for car-side check-in. Methodist residents check in at the main Housing Office on the east side of Methodist Hall. A Residence Life staff member lets you and one support person into your room.
- Parking
- After unloading, Walker and Banning residents park in the lot in front of Draper Hall, and Methodist residents use the L1 or L2 parking garages. Confirm the current instructions in your move-in sign-up email.
- What you'll receive
- A Residence Life staff member lets you into your room during your slot. Volunteers with carts have helped first-year students at Walker and Banning, and carts can be checked out at Methodist Hall.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Move your car to the designated parking after unloading, and arrive only in your assigned window.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
