Plan to arrive according to your specific move-in schedule, communicated directly by Housing and Residence Life. The $200 housing deposit is refundable if you cancel your contract by May 1. Bobcat Student Orientation includes registering for courses and Learning Communities - most students complete it over the summer, though a final August session remains available for those who couldn't attend earlier. Confirm or update your move-in appointment through the Housing Self-Service page ahead of your arrival.

Move-in day logistics
- Check-in location
- Navigate with GPS until you see campus signage guiding you to your residential green and hall - Dougan House is on South Green, Gamertsfelder Hall is on East Green, and Treudley Hall is on West Green.
- Parking
- Athens City parking (including metered parking) and private apartment complex parking enforcement remain in effect during move-in - for academic-year parking information beyond move-in, visit Parking and Transportation Services.
- What you'll receive
- The Bobcat Move-In Crew, made up of student and staff volunteers, is available to help carry belongings from your vehicle to your room - check the Housing website for details on requesting help.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
