Check your assigned move-in date and time in your Montclair email prior to arrival - complete your housing agreement, immunization records, and any outstanding account requirements beforehand. Montclair's campus spans both Montclair and Bloomfield locations - confirm which campus your assigned hall is on before planning your route. First-year students with fewer than 30 credits aren't permitted to have a car on campus - Montclair does have two on-campus train stations and a bus line if you need to get around.

Move-in day logistics
- Check-in location
- University Police stationed at all campus entrance points will provide directions and check your Check-In Confirmation email, Hawk Pass, and photo ID.
- Parking
- At your residence hall, you'll have approximately 10 minutes to unload your vehicle before parking in a designated parking zone.
- Vehicle restrictions
- All parking permits are virtual, tied to your license plate number rather than a hangtag or decal - make sure your vehicle information is accurate when registering.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
