Mississippi State University's Starkville campus is anchored by Lee Hall, completed in 1910 and named for founding president Stephen D. Lee, whose bust stands outside on the Drill Field, with first-time freshmen required to live on campus across 18 residence halls spread over four campus areas: Historic District, South Point, Victory Park, and Zacharias Village.

Students who signed up for move-in timeslots in July will check in at their designated location before proceeding to their assigned residence hall. New Maroon Camp, a separate welcome program, runs Aug. 13-16, overlapping with move-in week. Mississippi State strongly recommends renter's insurance, since the university is not liable for damage or loss to personal property. All first-time students and full-time undergraduates 25 and under on the Starkville campus are automatically enrolled in $300 Dawg Dollars per semester, usable at dining locations across campus. Laundry costs $1.50 to wash and $1.50 to dry, payable with Dawg Dollars, coins, or the laundry app in each hall.

- Sign in at your designated move-in location per your scheduled timeslot before heading to your assigned residence hall - request assistance from campus volunteers if needed to help unload and carry belongings.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
