Minot State University's campus is anchored by Old Main, a 1912 building housing the College of Business and the Ann Nicole Nelson Hall auditorium, named for a Minot State alumna who died in the September 11, 2001 attacks, with first-year students required to live on campus in halls including Cook, the university's largest residence hall.

Fall 2026 Move-In Details
Residence halls open Friday, Aug. 21, and check-in runs Friday through Monday. All residence hall students must attend a mandatory Hall Meeting at 4 p.m. after check-in. Apply for Early Arrival through Campus Connection at least 5 days before your intended arrival if you need to move in before the halls open - early housing costs $25 per student per night, charged to your student account.

Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- Friday, August 21 (halls open 9 a.m.) through Monday, August 24, 2026: Friday and Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. A mandatory hall meeting follows at 4 p.m.

- Your assigned residence hall.
- What you'll receive
- Your room check-in at the hall; early arrival, if approved, is $25 per night. If you arrive outside the posted hours, contact the Housing Office ahead of time.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
