Sign up for a specific arrival timeslot based on your travel plans - the number of students who can arrive at a given time is limited, and no exceptions can be made once a timeslot fills. Move-in begins at 8 a.m. with a formal blessing for new students and families at The Commons. Street closures typically affect 13th, 17th, and 18th Streets between Wells Street and Wisconsin Avenue during move-in.

Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- Move-in runs Wednesday, August 26, 2026, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Sign up for a 90-minute arrival timeslot starting June 12 through the Campus Living Portal - a 60-minute early drop-off option (no overnight stay, no unpacking) is available August 23-25 for students who need to arrive earlier.
- Check-in location
- Move-in begins at The Commons with a formal blessing for new students and families, then continues to your assigned residence hall during your selected timeslot.
- What you'll receive
- Your room already furnished with a twin XL bed, dresser, desk and desk chair, mirror, study lamp, and curtains, plus basic cable service (bring your own TV and cables).
- Vehicle restrictions
- Motorized vehicles - including e-bikes, motorcycles, mopeds, hoverboards, self-balancing scooters, Segways, and drones - are prohibited in residence halls, including for charging purposes.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
