Move-In

Fall 2026 Move-In Details

Move-in appointments are required. Friday, Aug. 14 is reserved for sorority recruitment move-in; general move-in runs Aug. 15, 16, and Aug. 20-23 (no appointments Aug. 17-19). You must use your official FSU student email address to schedule your appointment - Sign Up Genius won't accept any other address. Due to construction near Salley, Rogers, and McCollum Halls, navigation to unloading zones may differ from what's shown on the map - signage will direct you on move-in day.

Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time - your exact move-in date is shown above in the Overview.

Move-in day logistics

Arrival window
Each move-in appointment is exactly one hour - arrive, check in for your key, unload your vehicle, and move it to a parking garage within that hour.
Check-in location
Your specific residence hall - Salley Hall residents unload at the Hull Drive parking lot; Landis Hall residents unload on University Way; Wildwood Hall residents unload at Varsity Drive (North) or the lot off W Jefferson St (South).
Parking
After unloading, move your vehicle to a parking garage - you can then walk back to your hall to finish setting up your room.
What you'll receive
Your room key at check-in - bring a photo ID (your FSUCard is preferred, but a state-issued ID works). Limited moving carts are available for checkout first come, first served at hall desks - bringing your own is encouraged.

Move-in day tips

  • Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
  • Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
  • Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
  • Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
