Creighton University's Omaha campus centers on St. John's Parish, an Omaha Landmark since 1981 whose 1888 cornerstone-laying drew the largest crowd ever assembled in Nebraska at the time, with students required to live on campus for their first two years, often in Kiewit or Swanson Halls.

Move-In
Fall 2026 Move-In Details
Roommate and housing assignments will be sent to your Creighton email in early July, after which you'll be able to select your move-in time. You can access the Housing Portal to change your move-in appointment within 24 hours of your selected time. Move-in and Welcome Week is one of Creighton's favorite annual traditions, dating back to the first "Week of Welcome for Freshmen" in 1947.
Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time - your exact move-in date is shown above in the Overview.
Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- Your specific move-in appointment time is self-selected through the Housing Portal once roommate and housing assignments go out in early July; it can be changed within 24 hours of your selected slot.
- Check-in location
- Your assigned residence hall - freshmen are typically housed in Kiewit or Swanson Hall, both centrally located near the Kiewit Fitness Center and St. John's Church.
- Parking
- Consult Creighton's campus Parking page for general lot locations.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
