Fall 2026 Move-In Details
Check in first at the Harold Alfond Athletic & Recreation Center (HAARC) during your designated arrival window, generally in 60-90 minute segments between 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. based on your assigned residence hall. Park in the Roberts parking lot - do not park in front of HAARC or in the athletics parking lot. You'll receive your student ID and key(s), along with materials for Orientation and COOT, at check-in.
Check your assignment in the housing portal for your specific date and time - your exact move-in date is shown above in the Overview.

- Arrival window
- Thursday, Sept. 3, in hall-based windows: East, Taylor and Williams 7:30-9:00 am; Drummond, Jacqueline Nunez and Leonard 8:30-10:00 am; West, Jane Powers, Piper and Marriner 9:30-11:00 am; Goddard-Hodgkins, Paula Crane Lunder and Sturtevant 10:30 am-12:00 pm. Check-in is only permitted for your hall during its window.

- Parking
- Park in the Roberts lot for check-in - not in front of HAARC or in the athletics lot. Student parking on campus is limited.
- What you'll receive
- Your student ID and room key(s), plus materials for Orientation and COOT, handed out at HAARC.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Every student vehicle needs a parking permit, registered online through Colby Security in August. Early arrival is not being approved except for sponsored fall pre-season athletes, student leaders in training and Pre-Orientation participants.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
