Chaminade University of Honolulu, the only Catholic university in Hawaii, sits on a hillside in Kaimuki overlooking Diamond Head and Waikiki, its original Spanish Mission-style buildings - Eiben Hall, Henry Hall, and Clarence T.C. Ching Hall - dating to 1928 and once transformed into a WWII field hospital the day after Pearl Harbor, with new Silverswords moving into halls like Hale Lokelani each August.

Fall 2026 Move-In Details
Housing assignments and move-in details are sent to residents with a completed housing application in July via their chaminade.edu email. All residents must reserve and confirm a check-in time with the Residence Life & Housing Office in advance - the housing application deadline was July 15, though late applications are accepted on a space-available basis. Returning students move in on a separate, later date (Aug. 15-16). Each resident is asked to have only one other person help with move-in.

Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- Thursday, August 13. Every resident reserves and confirms a check-in time with the Residence Life & Housing Office in advance, and check-in details are emailed to confirmed residents.
- What you'll receive
- Check-in details and your room assignment come by email in July. First-year students live in Hale Lokelani, a suite-style hall with community kitchens, a lounge, a pool table, and laundry. Bring at least one blanket and a light comforter, plus a few sweaters for rainy days and cool nights.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Each resident should have only one other person help with move-in.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
