Your arrival date and time is provided with your housing assignment, released after the housing application launches May 7. First-year students have a two-year on-campus residency requirement unless living with a parent within 40 miles of campus. Discover Week, CWRU's required orientation program, begins the same weekend as move-in and runs through August 23.

Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- International students move in Friday, August 14, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. General first-year move-in runs Saturday, August 15 and Sunday, August 16 - your specific appointment time is sent with your housing assignment.
- Check-in location
- Check in at the Maltz Performing Arts Center (Wade Commons for international students arriving August 14), then head to your assigned residence hall.
- Parking
- Follow the parking and unloading directions provided with your arrival appointment - specific lot assignments and vehicle flow are coordinated by staff on move-in day.
- What you'll receive
- Your housing assignment confirmation and building access; Discover Week meal plans for first-year students begin with dinner on August 16 at Leutner and Fribley Commons.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
