Students living in on-campus housing who bring a vehicle need to register it with BYU Parking Services; a $25/month parking fee applies at Heritage Halls, Helaman Halls, and Riviera during Fall-Winter semesters. Helaman Halls residents are required to select a meal plan during the contracting process. This specific date should be confirmed directly with BYU Housing closer to move-in. Before check-in, complete the online portion first: watch a check-in video, submit an e-signature, and select your specific check-in date and time. It's recommended the student and two helpers come to campus, rather than a larger group.

Move-in day logistics
- Check-in location
- Helaman Halls residents check in at the Helaman Halls Cannon Center; Heritage Halls residents check in at the Heritage Halls Central Building.
- Parking
- Once you've unloaded your belongings to your room or apartment, move your vehicle to a legal parking stall - not along curbs, sidewalks, in front of trash containers, or in service vehicle/hall advisor stalls.
- What you'll receive
- A student ID card (or temporary card) and key at the check-in location - staff distribute these along with directions to your building.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Guns and other weapons (large knives, bows and arrows, swords, paint guns), fireworks, and explosive/flammable materials are not allowed on campus or in the residence halls.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
