Choose a move-in appointment time based on your residence hall assignment - detailed instructions emailed by August 1. You'll have a 30-minute window to unload before moving to satellite parking.

Move-in day logistics
- Arrival window
- Arrive any time during your chosen move-in appointment window (August 11-13 for new students); you'll have 30 minutes to unload your vehicle.
- Check-in location
- Stadium-side halls (Belk, Frank, Laurel Creek, New River, Newland, Raven Rocks, Thunder Hill) direct to the New River Hall parking lot; East Campus halls (Cannon, Cone, Dogwood, Doughton, Elkstone, Summit, White) route via Hardin Street with on-site staff guidance; Appalachian Heights, Living Learning Center, Mountaineer Hall, and Mountain Laurel residents drive directly to their building.
- Parking
- After your 30-minute unloading window, stadium-side vehicles relocate to the River Street Parking Deck or Greenwood Parking Lot; East Campus vehicles relocate to the Holmes Drive Parking Deck or State Farm parking lot.
- What you'll receive
- Your room key, issued at check-in upon presenting a photo ID.
- Vehicle restrictions
- Strict 30-minute drop-off window for unloading; vehicles must then move to designated satellite parking.
Move-in day tips
- Arrive during your assigned move-in window - arriving early may mean waiting until your time slot.
- Bring a rolling cart or hand truck - campus carts can run out quickly during busy move-in periods.
- Have a parking backup plan - spaces near residence halls can fill up quickly, so know where you can unload if your preferred area is full.
- Watch the loading-zone time limit - many campuses require you to move your vehicle to longer-term parking after unloading.
